I was born in 1966 in Virginia. From a very early age, I learned that music was my favorite thing in life. My earliest exposure to music came from my older brothers.
I grew up listening and learning from their music: The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Jethro Tull, Joni Mitchell, and many others. I still enjoy this music now, although my tastes now are much broader.

At the age of 12, after saving money from doing odd jobs and delivering newspapers, I assembled my first system: an old Heathkit tube amp, a Garrard turntable, and a pair of cheap speakers (but they were three ways with big woofers!!!)
Upon finishing my formal education, I went to work as a salesman in a stereo shop. I truly enjoyed working there, as I could listen to music all day, make money, and upgrade my system at a discount to boot!

I then relocated to the Orlando, Florida area, where I continued in the hi fi industry, first as a salesman, then as Sales Manager. I became disillusioned with the industry, however.
The source of my disillusionment was two fold: firstly, the industry seemed to always come out with new and better equipment, but many times, I felt it was worse than the model it replaced.
Also, I found myself becoming more and more frustrated with consumers that bought equipment solely upon price, without regard to sound quality or level of construction. I left the hi fi industry in 1993 when the company I worked for went bankrupt .

I never did forget about the music. To me, that is the reason to own a good hi fi system: to get lost in the music. I enjoy most types of music: Rock, Jazz, Classical, and especially the blues. I also enjoy music indigenous to the U.S.- Cajun and Zydeco. I listen to both CDs and vinyl. I own approximately 600 CDs and 300 LPs.

My current system consists of Harman/Kardon Citation electronics, a Dynaco/Van Alstine tube preamp, a pair of Infinity Kappa series speakers, a Sony ES CD player, a Soundstream D/A processor, a Rega Planar 2 turntable with a Rega Bias cartridge.
All of my interconnects are Monster Cable. Line conditioning is accomplished by a Panamax line conitioner and surge suppressor.

My other hobbies include fine dining, deep sea fishing, and reading. I am also restoring a 1979 MGB.
I work as a Sales Manager for an automobile company. I live in Lake Mary, Florida with Tina, my wife of 10 years.
